    Rigaku Americas Corporation, a leading worldwide supplier of x-ray-based semiconductor metrology tools is seeking a Regional Sales Representative for the West and Southwest US. The ideal candidate will have previous experience selling x-ray or similar analytical instruments or capital equipment.


    • Selling x-ray metrology tools designed for manufacturing and process R&D use in the semiconductor industry. X-ray metrology tools may incorporate a variety of techniques, including x-ray fluorescence (XRF), x-ray reflectometry (XRR), x-ray diffraction (XRD), total-reflection XRF (TXRF), and small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS). Knowledge of thin film characterization techniques would be an asset.
    • Following Rigaku’s strategic direction to address specific market segments.
    • Meeting sales targets and growing sales by creating new customers, capturing competitors’ customers, and retaining Rigaku customers.
    • Routinely visiting prospects on sales calls to meet customers, give product presentations, engage other Rigaku team members, and for lunch/dinner dates with customers to promote and sell Rigaku products.
    • Accompanying prospective customers/customers to product demonstrations/inspections at Rigaku facilities in Japan, as required.
    • Persuading customers to buy Rigaku products versus our competition through use of excellent verbal and written communication and use of professional sales tactics.
    • Negotiating final terms (price, warranty, delivery, conditions, ) of a contract.
    • Logging all customer interaction and sales activities into the company-designated CRM software package, currently Salesforce.com. Knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
    • Participation in international conference calls, as required.
    • Working under the guidance and direction of the Director of Business Development, Semiconductor Metrology Products.

    Other duties as assigned


    • 4-year college degree
    • At least 5 years of prior sales experience (capital equipment sales preferred).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Public speaking and presenting to large groups is required.
    • Up to 70% travel required inside the US, primarily in the West and Southwest US territory.
    • Must reside or relocate to a mutually agreeable location in the sales territory.
